The Biodiversity management Bureau kicks of the 18-day campaign to end violence against women. The campaign, which runs from 25 November to 12 December 2024, aligns with the Philippine Government’s national efforts and international advocacy to combat violence and promote women’s health and well-being.
This year’s campaign, which coincided with the 20th anniversary of Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act, carries the theme—“VAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!”—to emphasize the need to take action against VAW.
A Gender Sensitivity Training for contractual employees held last November 7, 2024 and a BDFE Gender Analysis held last November 8 2024 were conducted as part of this year’s campaign.
A GAD-Vocacy Walk was held last November 25, 2024 as part of BMB’s flag raising ceremony. It was followed by Learning events on RA 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act and Empowering Women on Cybersecurity.
