The project is the first of its kind under the Urban Biodiversity Conservation Program with the primary goal of contributing in the development of a biodiversity friendly city. It also aims to increase the access of urban dwellers to green spaces and maintain functional urban green spaces which will help regain ecosystem services, develop resiliency, increase aesthetics and quality of urban environment, and bring people closer to nature for improved human well-being.

The Gabay Kalikasan Park formerly known as Madison Park in New Manila, Quezon City will be developed into a green linear park and will serve as the pilot site of the project

The Memorandum of Agreement will run for a duration of three (3) years commencing in 2022 and will end in 2024.
