The 1st Philippine Cave and Karst Forum was conducted on 9-10 November 2016 at the National Museum of Fine Arts Auditorium, Padre Burgos Drive, Manila. The Forum had five sessions, namely: Cave Geology, Cave Biology, Cultural and Historical Value on Caves, Cave Ecotourism and Governance and Management of Caves. There were twenty (20) presentations by specialists/experts. The Forum provided opportunity for DENR staff and various stakeholders to learn and acquire enhanced knowledge on transdisciplinary approaches to management and researches of cave and karst ecosystems in support to the implementation of Republic Act 9072 (National Caves and Cave Resources Management and Protection Act). A total of 236 participants (141 male and 95 female) from DENR, National Cave Committee, Regional Cave Committees, other Government agencies, Local Government Units, academe and researchers participated in the Forum.
